John R. Wilbanks was born August 22, 1949 to John and Barbara Wilbanks. He departed this earth on Saturday, August 27, 2022.
John was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; twin siblings; and a host of wonderful friends in NYC.
John was a very intelligent man with many talents as Master Gardener and Floral Designer. John was published in several brides’ magazines. John traveled to Saudi Arabia for a royal wedding for a team of selected designers and did early projects with Martha Stewart. John and his friend Ronnie Meisner landscaped gardens for influential clients in Connecticut and affluent homes in NYC.
John will be dearly missed by “Sister” Dianne Wilbanks Womack, Ronnie Miesner and Craig Basmajin; nephews, John (Suzanne) and Trenton Thomas; and what he called his “Grans”, Max and Emma Thomas. He will certainly be missed by his “Wine-Gals” that he so enjoyed; dear friends, Mary Vandover, Richard Earnheart and Ronald Ford.
John asked that in lieu of flowers for him give a bouquet of flowers from your gardens to someone special to you.
Special thanks to Dee Dee (Diane Jauison) for her friendship and floral assistance for many years.
“I have to say I am relieved it is over. At the end I could only feel pity for the urge toward more life when it became more difficult, but I will miss everyone”
Goodbye dear friends and family and wonderful doctors MK Singh, Makhoul, Patel, Neaville and Dr. Eric at SFC.
