Frances Carolyn Head, age 88 of Batesville died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Little Rock. She was born February 3, 1924 at Salado, Arkansas to William Thomas and Callie Rosenbaum Manuel. She was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary for the Independence County Judge and also the Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville, which was also her church home. Frances was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Every moment of her life was spent serving her God, family, and friends. She had a way of bringing comfort to anyone around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John R. Head and a brother, William Cleo Manuel. Survivors include a son, Rick Head and wife Shirley of North Little Rock, a daughter, Lesa Head Perry and husband Chris of Little Rock, a sister Dora Etta Franks of Batesville, three grandchildren, Rebekah Perry-Vuong and husband Steven of North Little Rock, Andrea Perry Allison and husband Justin of South Hamilton, Massachusetts, and Kathryn Perry of Little Rock, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville with her son-in-law Rev. Chris Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery located at Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service. Visitation will be Monday, May 7, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel. Pallbearers are Jim Bowling, Craig Bowling, Roy Cartwright, Mark Cartwright, Aaron Cartwright and Van Jackson. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Engles and the Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church. A special thanks to the workers and staff of Woodland Hills Healthcare and Arkansas Hospice both of Little Rock for the compassionate care given to our precious mother and grandmother.
