Vernita Carter Norris

Vernita (Carter) Norris age 78 of Poughkeepsie died Sunday October 21, 2007 at her home. She was born September 28, 1929 at Evening Shade, Arkansas to Clyde and Flava (Haley) Carter. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Evening Shade United Methodist Church at Evening Shade and a member of the Poughkeepsie Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxilary.She was preceded in death by her parents.Survivors include her husband T. J. Norris of the home, one daughter Patti Conroy of Tonganoxie, KS, two brothers Raybourne Carter of Batesville and Russell Carter of Evening Shade, three grandchildren Tammy Bartels and Michelle Conroy both of Tonganoxie, KS and Bobby Conroy of Leavenworth, KS, five great grandchildren Alexandria Bartels, P. J. Conroy and William Bartels all of Tonganoxie, KS, Bobby Conroy and Mikey Conroy both of Leavenworth, KS, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Pallbearers will be Tommy Morgan, Marty Morgan, Sheila Morgan, Danny Denton, Dee Denton and Dusty Denton.
