Charlene E. George

Charlene E. George, age 88 of Locust Grove died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born November 28, 1919 at Locust Grove, Arkansas to Charles Franklin and Lucindy (Lovell) Elms. She was a school teacher and also retired from International Shoe Factory in Batesville. She was a member of the Extension Homemaker's Club at Jamestown and was a member of the Locust Grove Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Weldon George and one sister Minerva Carnett.Survivors include one niece, several cousins and many friends.Funeral services will begin Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Locust Grove Landmark Missionary Baptist Church located at Locust Grove with Bro.G. C. Anderson. Burial will follow in the Kyler Cemetery located at Southside with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Friday, April 18, 2008 from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Men of the Locust Grove Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
