James Calvin Mingues, age 77 of Locust Grove died Sunday, May 4, 2008 in a Little Rock hospital. He was born April 26, 1931 to Thomas William and Sadie (Prince) Mingues. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and a member of the Dugan Free Pentecostal Church located in the Dugan community.He was preceded in death by his parents, his step mother Lucy Jean (Patrick) Mingues, one son Calvin Glenn Mingues, one brother Hufford Mingues, one sister Betty Jean Mingues and one great granddaughter Becca Lynn Jones.Survivors include six sons, J. C. Mingues of McRay, Wade Ramsey, Leslie Leon Mingues, David Mingues and Bobby Mingues all of Mountain View and Chet Mingues of Batesville, two daughters, Sadie Ivy of Mountain View and Kathy Canard of Locust Grove, three brothers, William Mingues and Charles Mingues both of Mountain View and Ivan Mingues of Newport, twenty-two grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dugan Free Pentecostal Church located in the Dugan community, near Mountain View with Sister Barbara Bullard officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Joy Cemetery located in the Dugan community with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Tuesday, May 6, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Cory Mingues, Jeremy Mingues, Mathew Mingues, Roben Ivy, James G. Mingues, Elvis Mingues and C. J. Mingues.
