Dorothy Niemeyer, age 72 of Smithville died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born July 8, 1935 at Prescott, Arkansas to Oscar and Grace Stivers. She was a homemaker, active in the Sharp County Extension Homemakers, a member of the Fit and Sew Club in Cave City, a master clothier and enjoyed clogging.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Freddie Niemeyer, one brother Theodore Stivers and one sister Betty Niemeyer.Survivors include two sons Edward Niemeyer of Wichita, Kansas and Fredrick Niemeyer of Jonesboro, two daughters Debra Caughron of Big Sandy, Texas and Rhonda Niemeyer of Cushman, one brother Jody Stivers of Prescott, three sisters Mary Lavonne Stivers and Opal Wooley both of Houston, Texas and Judy Parnell of Pensacola, Florida, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.A visitation will be Saturday, May 31, 2008 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City.
