Max L. Sullivan age 82 of Batesville died Tuesday May 27, 2008 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born February 12, 1926 at Calamine, Arkansas to Louis and Maude Sullivan. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran having served during WWII, retired district director for the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service and a farmer. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Batesville.He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Rubye Mae Sullivan, one brother, Glen D. Sullivan and three sisters, Ashpy Williams, Juanita Barnett and Mildred Huddleston. Survivors include his wife, Deanna King Sullivan of the home, one daughter, Cathy Goodwin of Calamine, one sister, Sybil Wann of Batesville, two grandchildren, Amanda Brownderville of Calamine and Grant Goodwin of Memphis, TN, one great granddaughter, Noelle Brownderville of Calamine, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Friday May 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Batesville with Rev. Norman Clayton and Rev. Chuck Seay officiating. Burial will follow in the Sullivan Cemetery located at Calamine with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Thursday May 29, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Zack Baxter, Marc Walling, David Anderson, Wayne Wyatt, Troy Baxter, Russ Amos, R.B. Floyd and Forrest Faulkner.Honorary pallbearers are Charles Wallis, David Street, Elmer Cochran Jr. and Frederic Wann.
