William D. 'Bill' Hancock, age 81 of Evening Shade died Wednesday May 28, 2008 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born June 15, 1926 at Ulm, Arkansas to Will Marcus and Mary McKinzie Hancock. He was a retired plumber and a member of the Sidney Baptist Church where he served as the greeter.He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Marcus Hancock Jr., John D. Hancock, James Porter Hancock and Vonda Ray Hancock.Survivors include his wife Joyce Hancock of the home, one son, William D. Hancock II of Bailey, North Carolina, two daughters, Charlotte Gail Terbot of Cave City adn Ruth Annette Bramlett-Oha of Reva, Virginia, six grandchildren, Mary Beth Tipton of Evening Shade, William D. Hancock III of Raleigh, North Carolina, Monieca Gail Marshall of Cave City, Wayne Robert Hancock of Bailey, North Carolina, Marcala Tyann Tucker of Southside and Majorie Jamie Paugh of Colorado Springs, Colorado, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral Services will begin Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sidney Baptist Church located at Sidney. Burial will follow in the Maxville Cemtery lcoated north of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Friday, May 30, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers are Morris Stewart, Derick Stewart, Travis Stewart, Arch Westmoreland, Wendell Turner, Loren Trewyn, Jim Shand and Buell Wilkes.
