Iris Laverne Gould Kwok Millspaugh

Iris Laverne Gould Kwok Millspaugh of Pleasant Plains died at home in the embrace of her children at age of 74 June 14, 2008.She was born September 23, 1933, she was the daughter of Otis Prior and Wahreta Barnes Gould. She retired from GenCorp after 30 years and she helped start the Northside Baptist Mission which is now the Parkview Baptist Church.At age 70, after being diagnosed with cancer and finishing chemotherapy, she decided to live her life to the fullest. She went on numerous ATV trail rides in several states with family members. Then, she began riding in horse shows for the first time in her life and received Lady, a Missouri Fox Trotter, for her 71st birthday from her children and grandchildren. She became a member of the following horse show clubs AGHSA, BSC, HHSA, SSHAA and SSHBEA.Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Jackie Prior and Kay Kwok of Delaware, OH, a daughter and son-in-law, Eddie Jean and Bill Dugger of Batesville and a daughter and son-in-law, Karen Denise and Michael Sutter of Pleasant Plains; 7 grandchildren: Jason and Joshua Dugger of Batesville, Justin Dugger of Jonesboro, Jackie Prior Kwok II of Springfield, MO, Edward 'Roo' Kwok of Delaware, OH, Candace and Skyler Sutter of Pleasant Plains; and 3 great-grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth and Levi Dugger of Batesville and Daniel Prior Kwok of Springfield, MO.She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Edward Millspaugh, a granddaughter Sallykay Lavern Kwok, her parents and 2 infant brothers.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel of Batesville with Dr. Jack Kwok, Minister Kennard Ward and Rev. James Poole officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery located at Locust Grove with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel of Batesville.Pallbearers will be Jason Dugger, Justin Dugger, J. P. Kwok, Roo Kwok, Skyler Sutter and Valley Steadham.Honorary pallbearers are Josh Dugger, Dr. Steve Alexander, Dr. John Allgood and Don Pollard.
