Norman J. Cox, age 90 of Oil Trough died Monday, June 16, 2008 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born October 4, 1917 at Floral, Arkansas to John Cleveland and Hester Ann (Wood) Cox. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during World War II in the Pacific Theater, retired Post Master at Bradford and a member of the American Legion at Bradford. He was a member of the Oil Trough Church of Christ.He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Winfred Cox, two brothers Raymond Cox and Adrian Cox and one sister Geraldine Page.Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Sandra Cox of the home, one son John Cox of Jacksonville, two step sons Charles Belva of Cape May, New Jersey and David Belva of Woodbridge, Virginia, one daughter Martha Ann Haslam of Durham, North Carolina, one step daughter Jonna Wooldridge of Orlando, Florida, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oil Trough Church of Christ with Charles Belva officiating. Burial will follow in the Heard Cemetery located in Bradford with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will begin Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Boyd Shirley, Charles Fraser, Charles Allen Burrow, Garland Hankins, Gary Cox and Terry Cox.
