Fred Cyril Skeel

Fred Cyril Skeel died peacefully in his sleep on June 17th. He was 92 and had lived a long and interesting life full of love for his beloved wife Grace who passed away in May of 2007. They were married 67 years. He is survived by Bruce Timothy, Robert, James and David.He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and worked for General Motors for 30+ years. His final duties were as purchasing agent for The Electromotive Division in LaGrange, IL. He maintained a pilots license for a number of years and was active in the Flying Club in Naperville, IL. He loved flying and had a tremendous wealth of knowledge about all types of aircraft. He enjoyed reading and building model radio controlled airplanes.Fred and Grace retired to Cherokee Village in 1976. Fred helped as a volunteer for the ambulance district for a number of years while his health permitted.He was involved in many activities in Cherokee Village including the Model Airplane Club, the Sportsman's Club, Golf League, his church and much more.A memorial service will be held at the Spring River Presbyterian Church located at Hardy on Sunday June 29, 2008 at 11:30 a.m.. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.No visitation is planned.
