David F. 'Pug' Kunkel, age 79 of Cave City died Monday, July 7, 2008 at his home. He was born September 26, 1928 at Evening Shade, Arkansas to John Edward and Alta Kunkel. He was retired from the U. S. Army after 21 years of service, drove a school bus for the Cave City School District for 13 years and was a farmer.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert Kunkel, John Kunkel and an infant brother and three sisters, Carmel Henning, Lela Kunkel and Edna Kunkel.Survivors include his wife of 52 years,Virginia 'Tootsie' Kunkel of the home, one son David Kunkel of Cave City, two daughters, Sue Parrish and Jo Watson both of Cave City, five grandchildren, Thomas Broughton, Robbie Watson, Aaron Watson, Brittany Parrish and Keith Kunkel all of Cave City, one great grandchild, Dixie Watson of Cave City, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.A private burial was held Tuesday July 8, 2008 at the Maxville Cemetery located north of Cave City. Arrangements were by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Pallbearers were David Kunkel, Robert Watson, Robbie Watson, Thomas Broughton, Aaron Watson and Keith Kunkel.
