Jimmie 'Buddy' Johnson, age 83 of Batesville died Monday, July 21, 2008 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born March 3, 1925 at Cushman, Arkansas to Morris and Tempie (Glen) Johnson. He was a retired janitorial service owner and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Desha.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Jewel Johnson and Wayne Johnson, three sisters Edna Johnson, Faye Perkey and Laverne Friend and one granddaughter Julie Jeanette Johnson.Survivors include his wife Sylvia Johnson of the home, two sons Eldon Johnson and wife Jennie and Joe Johnson and wife Ginger all of Batesville, two daughters Donna Matheny and Ronda Petz both of Batesville, one brother James Johnson of Missouri, four sisters Ruby Briley of Batesville, Neil Sipe of Mount Pleasant, Marcell Johnson of Benton Harbor, Michigan and Robbie Billings of Tuscon, Arizona, nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Don Yancey officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery located at Cushman with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will be Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Ernie Johnson, Donnie Johnson, David Johnson, Randy Jones, Christopher Little, Jonathan Little, Ronnie Eugene Petz and Ryan Keirn.
