Henry Truman Croft, son of the late Ward and Alma (Ford) Croft, died at his home on Friday, August, 22, 2008 at age 80. He was born in Sidney, Arkansas in 1927, he resided in Plato, MO. He was a retired Union iron worker, as a journeyman Rodman. He spent much of his early years farming, and was an avid horse enthusiast and well-know Ferrier, who enjoyed sharing his experiences and knowledge of his passions with others. Henry loved his family and his horses.He is survived by his wife Vearl of Plato, Missouri; four sisters, Bernell Cole, Janta Downing, and Billie Horn Steele of Sidney and Kay Goodman of Batesville, five children, Linda Miller of Carbondale, IL, Sue Rasgaitis of Plato, Missouri, Renee Minkus of Lebanon, Missouri, Benjamin L. Croft of Plato, Missouri, Mayo Fix of Kansasville, Wisconsin, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Spellman Croft, an infant sister Vera Mae Croft, an infant son James Webster Croft and one granddaughter.Funeral services will begin Monday, August 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Alvin Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in the Yeager Cemetery located west of Evening Shade with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Monday, August 25, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. until service time.Pallbearers will be Jeff Miller, Benjamin W. Croft, Mickey Croft, Cassie Hildebrand, Quentin Hildebrand and Van Voyles.
