Betty Ruth (St. John) Arie, age 72 of Cave City died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born April 10, 1936 at Hoxie, Arkansas to Leonard Otto and Velva (Riggs) St. John. She was a homemaker, had worked at White Rodgers and Westport Casuals in Batesville, was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Evening Shade and was of the Church of God faith.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 25 years, Needham L. Arie, one sister Juanita Rudick and one niece Teresa Rudick.Survivors include on son Billy Joe Lester Arie, Sr. and wife Pamlia of LaPlace, Louisiana, one daughter Betty Joan Odell Head and husband Lewis of Cave City, three brothers Sandford 'Mike' St. John of Batesville, Leonard St. John and Tommy St. John both of Cave City, a brother-in-law Gene Rudick, two sisters Lavada Coles of Batesville and Lydia Rudick of Cave City, three grandchildren Billy Joe Lester Arie, Jr. of Batesville, Brittiune Joesph-Lynn McClure and Benjamin Jean-Luc Arie both of LaPlace, Louisiana, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 3:00 p.m at the Cave Creek Church of God located in the Cave Creek Community with Bro. Eric Downs and Bro. Justin Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens located north of Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Friday, September 26, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Terry St. John, Calvin Rudick, Johnny Coles, Langley Puckett, Brandon Clark and Mike Brooks.Honorary pallbearers are Dewayne Coles,William Coles and Gene Rudick.
