Otis F. Caldwell age 84 of Batesville died Saturday October 18, 2008 at his home. He was born March 26, 1924 at Batesville, Arkansas to Ollie Otis and Alma Raye (Gaskill) Caldwell. He was a U.S. Marine veteran having served during WWII in Guam and Iwo Jima, retired from International Shoe Factory in Batesville and worked as a cabinet maker for many years. He was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church at Moorefield.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James Caldwell and Don Caldwell and three sisters, Georgia Harris, Audrey Cossey and Enomia Seuberth.Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Allene Britten Caldwell of the home, one son, Frankie Caldwell of Batesville, one daughter, Diane Horn of Batesville, four brothers, Bernard Caldwell and Mack Caldwell both of Batesville, Jerry Caldwell of Cherokee Village and Roger Dale Caldwell of Cave City, five sisters, Lucille Delberto of Chicago, Illinois, Mary Lee Carnett and Thelma Essmeyer both of Batesville, Emma J. Strackeljohn of St. Louis, Missouri and Bobbie Sutton of Cave City, three grandchildren, Brian Horn of Jonesboro, Shawn Caldwell of Batesville and Regan Caldwell of Bartlett, Tennessee, four great grandchildren, Isaac Horn, Blake Caldwell, Adam Horn and Maggie Beth Horn, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Tuesday October 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rehobeth Baptist Church located at Moorefield with Bro. Chuck Crow and Bro. Michael Conyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens located in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Monday October 20, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Mike Moffitt, Von Perkey, Robert Edley, Brian Horn, Shawn Caldwell and Regan Caldwell.Honorary pallbearers are his great grandchildren, Isaac Horn, Blake Caldwell, Adam Horn and Maggie Beth Horn.
