John Earl Rhodes age 62 of Poughkeepsie formerly of Little Rock died Friday November 14, 2008 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born September 21, 1946 in Lonoke, Arkansas the son of John Henry Rhodes Sr. and Floy Mae Powell. He was a truck driver and of the Assembly of God faith.He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Floyd E. Powell.Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Scrimsher of Poughkeepsie and Brenda Rhodes of Benton, five grandchildren, Justin Pilcher, Calvin Scrimsher, Shelby Kackley, Jessica Vines and Andrew Kile, four brothers, Charles Rhodes of Huntington, TN, David Rhodes of Mabelvale, Bobby Rhodes of Roland and Wesley Powell of Sherwood, two sisters, Patricia Boyd and Nancy Taylor both of Poughkeepsie, one half brother, John Henry Rhodes of Little Rock, two half sisters, Sandra Lindsey of Lonoke and Cathy Brannon of Conway, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Tuesday November 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith Assembly of God Church located at 2186 Hwy. 167 N in Evening Shade with Rev. Ricky Poole and Rev. Paul E. Gregg officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Lebanon Cemetery located near Lynn with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Lunch will be provided at the church after the services.Visitation will be Monday November 17, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City.Pallbearers will be Frank Boyd, Kenny Boyd, Dale Boyd, Nick Boyd, Anthony Green and Billy Krone.Honorary pallbearers are Roy Kackley and Bill Simpson.
