Sue Harris

Sue Harris of Batesville died Tuesday November 25, 2008. She was born July 6, 1919 in Warren, Arkansas to Tom and Claudia Carroll. She was married to Gene Harris in 1942. They lived in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, before moving to Batesville. They later owned Harris Style Shop for 28 years. After selling their style shop in 1978, she and her husband opened Harris Century 21 Realty where she was a sales associate. She was a full time partner in every business endeavor she and her husband were involved with.Sue spent her last years in a local nursing home where she was loved by all of her caretakers. She was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Altar Guild.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene Harris and brothers, George Carroll and F.G. Carroll.She is survived by nieces, Zeda Calk, Bonnie Kline, Patti Eubanks, Judy Cannon and Sandra Ayers; nephews, Van Carroll, John David Summers, Curtis Summers, Phillip Carroll and Al Carroll; her devoted caretakers Richard and Judy Lewis and Bill and Hayes Olson and many friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday December 6, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Batesville.
