Rufus E. Mize, age 68 of Pleasant Plains died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at his home. He was born July 28, 1940 at Fifty-Six, Arkansas to Joe and Beryl Lawrence Mize. He retired from Con Agra where he was plant manager, enjoyed spending time with his family and camping. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Pleasant Plains.He was preceded in death by his parents.Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Phyllis Mize of the home, two sons Phillip Mize of Pine Bluff and Brian Mize of Marion, three daughters Cindy Gitthens of Springfield, Missouri, Kim Capps of Judsonia and Kelly Wakefield of Van Buren, five brothers, Everett Mize, Bob Mize and Reuben Mize all of Batesville, Glenn Mize and Larry Mize both of Texas, one sister Helen Griffin of Texas, fifteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be Monday, January 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God in Pleasant Plains with Rev. Jerry Smith and Rev. Tommy Carpenter officiating.Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery located at Salado.Visitation will be Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Gary Mize, Eric Mize, Steve Mize, Stan Mize, Michael Mize and Jonathan Griffin.Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Mize, Tyler Mize and Jon Perry Mize.
