Stephen Douglas Cremeens age 45 of Charlotte (formerly of Jonesboro) died Saturday January 17, 2009 near Cash. He was born August 20, 1963 at Jonesboro, Arkansas to Billy Gene and Hattie Stout Cremeens. He was a teacher and coach at Cedar Ridge High School in Newark, coaching softball, volleyball and football and teaching Science, Social Studies and Reading. He was a USSSA Fast Pitch Softball umpire and had umpired the 18 and Under Fast Pitch World Series in Florida for several years. He was a member of the Charlotte Church of Christ.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arvil and Viola Cremeens and maternal grandparents, James and Wretha Stout.Survivors include his wife, Heather Cremeens of the home, three daughters, Brittany Cremeens and Meagan Cremeens both of Jonesboro and Toni Cremeens of the home, his parents, Bill and Hattie Cremeens of Jonesboro, three brothers, Guy Cremeens and Don Cremeens both of Jonesboro and Gary Cremeens of Paragould, one niece, three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday January 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Ridge High School Gymnasium at Newark with Chuck Crowe, Ralph Wallis and Gary Cremeens officiating. Burial will follow in the Shamrock Cemetery located at Charlotte with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will be Tuesday January 20, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m at the Cedar Ridge High School Gymnasium in Newark.Pallbearers will be Darren Cullison, Anthony Renshaw, Ken Stallings, Kenny Stallings, Johnny Steaks and Steve Collier.Honorary pallbearers are Mike Simmons, John Franks, Mike Hawkins and the Northeast Arkansas Fast Pitch Umpire Association.
