Neil Wilkerson, age 82 of Cave City died Saturday, April 4, 2009 at his home. He was born October 14, 1926 at Grange, Arkansas to John Robert and Ophelia Powell Wilkerson. He was a U. S. Army veteran, a Missionary Baptist minister, a trustee for Budd Creek Baptist Camp in Greers Ferry for 15 years and a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City.He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Sarah Jane Wilkerson, seven brothers, Edgar Wilkerson, Morrison Wilkerson, Stanley Wilkerson, Taylor Wilkerson, Spurgeon Wilkerson, Woodrow Wilkerson and Barton Wilkerson and six sisters, Effie Taylor, Maude Sullivan, Susie Deering, Elsie Montgomery, Ann Adams and Bobbie Kelly.Survivors include his wife, Wanda Wilkerson of the home, one son, David Wilkerson of Batesville, two daughters, Brenda Chambliss of Batesville and Leah Wright of Strawberry, two brothers, J. R. Wilkerson of Harrison and Billy S. Wilkerson of Grange, eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Graveside services for family and close friends will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. the Wilkerson Cemetery located at Grange with Bro. Ron Canard officiating. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church located at Cave City with Bro. Ben Hightower officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.No visitation is planned.Pallbearers will be Ben Hightower, Joey Hightower, Barton Neil Chambliss, David Barton Wilkerson, Corey Wright and Tyler Wright.Honorary pallbearers are all his nephews.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Missionary Baptist Church Youth Group and the Budd Creek Baptist Camp.
