Hazel Meharg Lindsey, age 88 of Pleasant Plains died Monday, April 6, 2009 at a Searcy hospital. She was born March 28, 1921 at Pleasant Plains to Henry Arthur and Genila Adaline Blankenship Meharg. She was a school teacher, licensed cosmetologist, retired from Teletype Corporation in Little Rock. She enjoyed traveling and going to races. She was a member of Flippo Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Plains.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Franklin Lindsey, a step-daughter, Helen Lindsey, four brothers, two sisters and a step-granddaughter, Susan Pruss.Survivors include a son Jerry Lindsey and wife Beverly of Pleasant Plains, a step-daughter, Patricia Thomas of Beebe, two grandsons, Gary Lindsey Jr. of Batesville and Jason Lindsey of Pleasant Plains, five step-grandchildren, eleven step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church located at Pleasant Plains with Bro. Keith Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery located at Pleasant Plains with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Carson Roberson, Troy Ring, Ernie Price, Clentis Staggs, Don Williams, Lanie Langley, Eric Ring and Brad Wood.
