Gladys Milligan Townsley, age 91 of Batesville died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born September 19, 1917 at Calamine, Arkansas to Samuel Jackson and Elizabeth Anne (Hardin) Milligan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim Townsley, step-mother Bessie (Cooper) Milligan, four brothers, Darvella Milligan, Frank Milligan, Leon Milligan and an infant brother Carl Milligan and two sisters Nancy Carlan and infant sister, Mary Milligan.Survivors include two sons, James O. Townsley and Jerry W. Townsley both of Batesville, two daughters, Anna Beth Crabtree and Evelyn Ross both of Cave City, one brother Ellis Milligan of Little Rock, one sister Lora Williford of Batesville, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Grayden Milligan and Bro. Dardanelle Townsley officiating. Burial will follow in the Milligan Campground Cemetery located east of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Samuel Crabtree, Bryan Ross, Alan Ross, David W. Townsley, Victor Townsley and Curt Townsley.Honorary pallbearers are Jared Johnson, Phil Phillips and Jerry Bristow.
