Magdalene Roberts age 88 of Strawberry died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born April 4, 1921 at Strawberry, Arkansas to Ephriam and Nettie Ann (Doyle) Norman. She was a homemaker and taught school at the Rosebud one room school near Cord for 14 years and substitute taught at Strawberry Schools for many years. She was an active member of the Jerusalem Landmark Missionary Baptist Church located at Strawberry for 72 years where she served as church clerk for 32 years and Sunday school teacher for many years.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Lowell Roberts, six brothers and four sisters.Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Duncan of Strawberry; one brother, Hardaway Norman of Fenton, Michigan; one sister, Alene Holland of Strawberry; three grandchildren, Susan Ferguson and Mary Belew both of Jonesboro and Jayme Tabor of Arkadelphia; four great grandchildren, Dustin Wilson, Whitney Schug, Zachary Ferguson and James Belew; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Sunday June 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jerusalem Landmark Missionary Baptist Church located at Strawberry with Bro. Harold Boyd and Bro. Bobby Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Ward Cemetery located at Strawberry with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.Pallbearers will be Darrell Birmingham, Scott Wright, Vince Wright, Keith Wright, Allen McDonald, and Elmer Rollins.
