Willa Dean Head, age 83 of Southside died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born October 5, 1925 at Batesville, Arkansas to Nick and Stella Sandy Rutledge. She was a retired canteen operator for White Rodgers in Batesville and was a member of the Southside Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Franklin Head and one brother Jimmy O. Rutledge.Survivors include one son James L. Head of Southside, one daughter, Kay Trumble of Batesville, one brother, Glen Rutledge of Southside, one sister Mary Presley of Southside, one granddaughter, Allison Trumble of Waco, Texas, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Southside Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery located near Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Tuesday, July 14, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Memorials may be made to the Southside Missionary Baptist Church.Pallbearers are Kurt Cady, Jay Griffis, Shon Griffis, Josh Griffis, Aaron Clark and David Cullins.Honorary pallbearer is J. B. Presley.
