Almeda Padgett Thomas

Almeda Padgett Thomas age 87 of Concord died Friday July 31, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born November 16, 1921 at Newport, Arkansas to Herbert Oscar and Claudia Belle Sharp Padgett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Concord General Baptist Church at Concord.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Perry Thomas, one brother, Murray Padgett, two sisters, Helen Carter and Olive Smith and two great grandsons, Jedidiah Murrell and Daniel Murrell.Survivors include two sons, James Thomas and Rick Thomas both of Concord, one daughter, Perralee Simpson of Concord, two sisters, Norma White Jackson of Concord and Mary DeLoach of Marion, ten grandchildren, Scott Thomas of Greenbriar, Mike Thomas of Alaska, Greg Thomas and Timothy Thomas both of Concord, Randy Armstrong of Washington, Tracy Murrell of Drasco, Julie Simpson of Concord, Jamie Shane of Batesville, Lori Benjamin of Washington and Lisa Blackledge of Elk City, Oklahoma, eighteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Monday August 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Concord General Baptist Church with Bro. Brian Harlan officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery located at Floral with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will begin Sunday August 2, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Greg Thomas, Scott Thomas, Jim Fulbright, Ethan Hebert, Ryan Shane and Larry Martin.
