Carl Berry, age 83 of Batesville departed this life to enter his heavenly home Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Batesville, Arkansas. He was born April 21, 1926 in Blytheville. He was a retired road driver. He enjoyed fishing, gospel music and working on small engines, especially lawnmowers. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of West Baptist Church and was a 32nd Degree Mason #248 of Newark.He is survived by his wife, Lawanda of the home; two sons, Danny Berry and Jerry Berry of Mississippi, one daughter, Brenda Cox of Mississippi, two stepdaughters, Jan Daniel and husband, Ernie; and Lynn Haas and husband, Ed, three sisters, Lena Young, Madge Kressin and Louise Grissom all of Missouri and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and two sisters.Graveside services will begin Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens located north of Batesville with Bro. Bob Dailey officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will be Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers are Masons: Clint Thomas, Steve Davis, Gary Marshall, Bill Dugger, B.B. Matthews and Perry Crawford.Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Robert Walton, Henry Grooms, Jim Clark and all other Masonic Lodge Members.
