Thomas W. Melton

Thomas W. 'Jack' Melton, age 73 of Southside died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at a Little Rock hospital. He was born October 29, 1935 at Cushman, Arkansas to Willie and Mentie Glenn Melton. He was a truck driver, enjoyed yard work, computers and was an avid ham radio operator. He was of the Assembly of God faithHe was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Von Melton and Rayburn Melton, one sister Hazel Barksdale and one infant grandson, Chad Reynolds.Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Donna Sue Melton of the home, one son Jerry Reynolds of Fort Smith, two daughters, Carol McDowell of Hot Springs and Sherry Scoggin of Batesville, one brother Coy Melton of Batesville, three sisters, Jima Lee Stephenson of Batesville, Shirley Dorhoffer and Veda Saline both of Arizona, five grandchildren, Brian Ring of Batesville, Justin McDowell, Jessica McDowell and Tabitha Wainscott all of Hot Springs and Ashley Reynolds of Fort Smith, five great grandchildren, Chad McDowell of Hot Springs, Lantz Tucker, Destinee Hunter, Kirstyn Ring and Dylan Ring of Batesville, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Friday, August 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Cushman with Rev. Carl Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service,Visitation will be Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Jeff Melton, Hoy Melton, David McDowell, Jerry Reynolds, Brian Ring and Justin McDowell.
