Mary Sparks Powers

Mary Sparks Powers, age 54 of Poughkeepsie died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at her home. She was born October 23, 1954 at Davenport, Iowa to Vern and Colleen Hogg Sparks. She enjoyed the outdoors, writing and her family was important to her.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tommy Powers and an infant son, Jeffery.Survivors include three sons, Raymond Payton of Poughkeepsie, Johnny Payton of Batesville and Ronald Payton of Poughkeepsie, two daughters, Brenda Holm and Crissy Thombeni of Batesville, three brothers, Dwayne Sparks of Washington state, John Sparks of Kirksville, Missouri and Junior Sparks of Kansas City, Missouri, ten grandchildren, Karanda Willey of San Antonio, Texas, Frank Willey of Batesville, Alicia Sparks of San Antonio, Texas, Seth Bell of Batesville, Ashley Bell, Perdon Thombeni, Paul Thombeni of Batesville, Kayden Payton of Jonesboro, Casey Payton of Jonesboro and John Payton of Batesville, two great grandchildren, Dathon Willey and Thomas Willey of Batesville, one niece Janessa Sparks of Washington state and a host of other relatives and friendsA visitation will begin Friday, August 14, 2009 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with a Graveside Service immediately following at the Powell's Chapel Cemetery located near Poughkeepsie.
