Tom Hampton

Tom Hampton age 65 of Pleasant Plains died Friday August 28, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born June 1, 1944 at Lake City, Arkansas to Henry and Mary Josephine Baldridge Hampton. He had worked for Gateway Technical College in Batesville and Black River Technical College in Newport as an automotive mechanics instructor. He also worked as a prison guard in Newport. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Snoda Daugherty. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hampton of the home; one son, Michael Hampton of Pleasant Plains; one sister, Bernice DeFacio of Batesville; two nieces, three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Graveside services will begin Monday August 31, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bellah Cemetery located at Ravenden Springs with Paul Maples officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Sunday August 30, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
