Lillian Sipe Westmoreland, age 89 years, 11 months, of Sidney passed away Monday, September 14, 2009 at her home. She was born October 3, 1919 at Lunenburg, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Noah and Carrie Love Sipe. She was a homemaker and lived her entire life in Izard County. She enjoyed quilting with the Ladies of Sidney Baptist Church of which she was a member since 1947 and served as church clerk for fifty years.She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bill Westmoreland, her parents, one brother Ernest Sipe and one sister, Eva Helm.Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Tommy Green of Sidney, two sons and daughter-in-laws, Arch and Linda Westmoreland of Sidney, Lynn and Cindy Westmoreland of Cave City, six grandsons, Steven Green, Randy Green, Dusty Westmoreland and Russell Westmoreland, all of Sidney, Dustin J. Westmoreland and Seth Westmoreland both of Cave City; two granddaughters, Cindy (Green) Garrison of Thayer, Missouri and Chrysti (Westmoreland) Turner of Sidney, sixteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, special care giver, Ann Cooley and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sidney Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Wiles and Pastor Joe Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery located at Sidney with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Wendell Turner and Brent Garrison and her grandsons, Steven Green, Randy Green, Dusty Westmoreland, Russell Westmoreland, Dustin Westmoreland and Seth Westmoreland.Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Sidney Baptist Church, Ann Cooley, Barbara Wiles, Sharon Smith, Pat Stidman, Kenneth and Anneta Brown, Randy Smith and Johnny Van Battles.
