Monnie Lee Isley, age 93 of Sulphur Rock died Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born July 20, 1916 at Mitchum, Arkansas to John Bert and Margaret Carmack Isley. She retired from the International Shoe Company in Batesville, served on the Sulphur Rock Volunteer Fire Department, and enjoyed watching baseball.She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Marvin Isley, Edgar Isley and John Bert Isley Jr. and a grandson, Jimmy Buie.Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Isley Buie of Sulphur Rock, four grandchildren, Don Buie of Caldwell, Idaho, Jerry Buie of Batesville, Johnny Buie of Truman and Cynthia Buie Mason of Mountain View, eight great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.Graveside services will begin Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with Rev. Paul Seay officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Services of Batesville.Visitation will be Wednesday, September 30, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Joy to the Children fund or Carl and Amy Jo Shaver Scholarship fund % Central Avenue United Methodist Church in Batesville.
