Barbara Kay Dickey Stauffer, age 68 of Cherokee Village, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born August 29, 1941 at Poughkeepsie, Arkansas, to Homer Elmer and Beatrice Inez Kent Dickey. She was a retired district treasurer for Cave City Public School, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the Catholic faith.She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Lonnie Kohn Dickey.Survivors include her husband, Murray Stauffer of the home; one son, Vincent Provenzano of Batesville; two daughters, Sharon Avila of San Marcos, California, and Christian Stauffer Bennett of Charlotte, North Carolina; one sister, Geri Taylor of Cave City; two grandchildren, Alexander Avila and Briana Avila, both of San Marcos, California and a host of other relatives and friends.A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. No visitation is planned.
