Mamie Ruth Wooton

Mamie Ruth Walters Wootton, age 80 of Desha died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born November 2, 1929 at Redfield, Arkansas to Johnny Edward Walters Sr. and Lennie Leola Dearmore Walters. She worked for Olan Mills Portrait Studio for many years, enjoyed her family, gardening, reading and flea markets and was of the Baptist faith.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Deveaux Wootton and a brother, Johnny Edward Walters Jr.Survivors include a son, Duane Wootton of Redfield, a daughter, Lynn Cissell of Desha, a brother, Barry Walters of Redfield, four sisters Doris Overton of Texas, Jean Walker of Texas, Charline Henry of Pine Bluff and Gwendolyn Liles of Redfield, six grandchildren, Joshua Wootton, Ron Wootton, Emily Wootton and Kally Wootton of Texas, Dawn Wootton of Georgia and Casey Dismuke of Louisiana, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Qualls Baesville Funeral Service.No visitation is planned.
