Thelma Whitlock age 95 of Evening Shade died Thursday November 26, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born May 14, 1914 at Evening Shade, Arkansas to Calvin W. and Cora Alice (Royal) Rogers. She was co-owner of Whitlock Shoes in Union City, Michigan before retiring to Evening Shade and was a member of the Piney Fork Church of Christ at Evening Shade.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Palmer Whitlock; one son, Bobby Whitlock and one brother, Thurman Rogers.Survivors include one son, Keith Whitlock of Evening Shade; one daughter, Gail Whitlock of Battle Creek, Michigan; five grandchildren, Raymond Whitlock, Paul Whitlock, Kerri Peek, Betsy Halferty and Christopher Peterson all of Michigan; eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday December 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City. Burial will follow in the Evening Shade Cemetery located in Evening Shade with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Tuesday December 1, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Paul Whitlock, Raymond Whitlock, Alex Whitlock, Buel Wilkes, Dowl Thomas and Robert Yager.
