Lockie Mae Burge age 90 of Gainesboro died Friday November 27, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born October 29, 1919 at Gainesboro, Arkansas to Horace Eli and Clara Mae (Simpson) Lundy. Lockie celebrated her 90th birthday shortly before her death. Lockie was married to Authur Burge. Together they lived on and ran their family farm. A skilled seamstress, Lockie made clothes for her family and an extended circle of friends, her favorite wedding gift to a new bride often being a wedding dress. She was a member of the Sharp United Methodist Church at Gainesboro.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Authur Burge; one infant son; three brothers, Columbus Lundy, Jack Lundy and Lawrence Lundy and one sister, Goldie Drummond.Survivors include three daughters, Linda Rena Smith of Searcy, Patricia Hart of Little Rock and Donna Burge of Jonesboro; one sister, Freda Edley of Gainesboro; four grandchildren, Kyle McDoniel of Santa Monica, California, Bridget Clevenger of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Khara O'Connell of Denver, Colorado and Lundy Bowren of Jonesboro; four great grandchildren several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Tuesday December 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Jerry Lumpkin and Bill Coe officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery located at Gainesboro with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Monday November 30, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Gary Lynn Hodge, Gary Hodge, Larry Edley, Ted Evans, Scott Kirk, Thomas Wood, Eric Wood, Larry Williams and Brian O'Connell.
