Oal Ring, age 94 of Cave City passed away December 29, 2009 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born May 28, 1915 to his parents, L. E. and Callie (Pinkston) Ring at Emery, Arkansas. He was a retired Bivocational Baptist Minister and a WWII veteran.Mr. Ring was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Agnes (Creech) Ring, two brothers, Clifton Ring and Virgil Ring, three sisters, Mona Cornell Whited, Ollie Coleen Sullivan and Gladys Key.He is survived by his wife Vivian Ring of Hardy, one son Danny Ring (Jolene) of Overland Park, Kansas, two daughters, Becky Way (John) of Crossett, Betty Greiner (J.R.) of Greenwood, Missouri, three brothers, K. P. Ring of Cave City, John L. Ring of Kokomo, Indiana, and Dewey Ring of Deland, Florida, four sisters, Lanelle Nolen of Little Rock, Betty Lockwood of El Cahon, California, Iva Nelson of Dallas Texas and Sue Johnson of Greenbrier, five grandchildren, John A. Way (Kara) of Little Rock, Whitney and Erica Ring of Overland Park, Kansas and Leah and Jeremy Greiner of Greenwood, Missouri, and two stepsons Jerry Wiles and family of Little Rock and Donward Wiles and family of Hardy. He leaves several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Cave City Nursing Home for their excellent care the last year and a half. A special thanks to his nieces Roberta Hutchison and Linda Ring for their constant love and care for him.Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rings Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Terry Johnson and Dewey Ring officiating. Visitation will be January 1, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City.Burial will be at Sharpsville Cemetery in Sharpsville, Indiana on January 4, 2010.Pallbearers will be John A. Way, Jeremy Greiner, Jim Hanson, Ricky Ring, Robert Ring, Gary Ring and Greg Nolen.Memorials may be made to Rings Chapel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 152, Cave City, AR or the Gideons.
