Mary Ann Coles Matthews, age 84 of Cave City, died Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Wood Lawn Nursing Home in Batesville. She was born December 10, 1925 at Sandtown, Arkansas, to William Thomas and Anna Gaines Coles. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cave City.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Raymond 'Shy' Matthews; nine brothers, Preston Coles, Coy Coles, Troy Coles, Albro Coles, Conway Coles, Alton Coles, Alvin Coles, Albert Coles and Doyle Coles.Survivors include two sons, Jeral Matthews of Batesville and Paul Matthews of Cave City; two brothers, Lavaughn Coles of Desha and Elisha Coles of Batesville; one sister, Winnie Grace Johnson of Spring Mill; four grandchildren, Laurie Zeller of St. Augustine, Florida, Kelly Matthews of Chickamauga, Georgia, Anna Beams of Cave City and Josh Matthews of Cave City; one great granddaughter, Shana Qualls of Cave City; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cave City with Rev. Blake Langston officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery located at Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Tuesday, January 05, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Kevin Coles, Dub Johnson, Johnny Coles, Brian Coles, Curt Coles and Randy Coles.Honorary pallbearers are all her nephews.
