George Laman Kerr, age 91 of Cave City died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at his home. He was born January 10, 1919 at Hickory Valley, Arkansas to George A. and Eunice Robinson Kerr. He was a U. S. Army World War II veteran, a farmer, a member of the American Legion for 60 years and a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Billy Wayne Kerr and two sisters, Agnes Wooldridge and Julia Milner.Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Birteen Simpson Kerr, a son Keith Kerr of Pendleton, Oregon, three daughters, Mary Jane McSpadden and Annettea Shreve of Cave City and Florena Weaver of Eutica, Mississippi, a sister Ruth Wooldridge of Cave City, eleven grandchildren, Scott McSpadden and John McSpadden of Cave City, Mike McSpadden of Hardy, Chris Shreve of Harrison, Eric Shreve of Fayetteville, Joseph Weaver of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Kelley Bokros of Starkville, Mississippi, Alan Kerr, Andrew Kerr, Megan Kerr and Rebekah Kerr of Pendleton, Oregon, sixteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Wayne Goodman and Bro. Ron Canard officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery located west of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be his grandsons.Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters.
