Charles Wayne Patterson age 81 of Cave City died Tuesday February 23, 2010 at his home. He was born October 25, 1928 at Cave City, Arkansas to Clarence and Virgie (James) Patterson. He was a cattle rancher, an avid hunter and fisherman, a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and of the Baptist faith.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James C. Patterson and an infant sister, Girtha Faye Patterson.Survivors include one brother, Jack Patterson and wife Geraldine of Batesville; two sisters, Peggy Jo Ross and Clara Dell Cossey and husband Doyle of Cave City; four nephews, Dr. Jim Sanders of Columbus, Ohio, John Sanders of Loveland, Colorado, Jack Sanders of Cave City and David Cossey of Cave City; seven nieces, Ginger Sandy, Jean Cossey and Patricia D. Wooldridge of Cave City, Debra Shaw and Susan Matthews of Batesville, Lisa Janes of Maumelle and Linda Patterson of Marion and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Friday February 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. John Sanders and Bro. Keith Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow in the James Cemetery located southeast of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Thursday February 25, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be David Cossey, Jack Sanders, Jim Sanders, Danny Sandy, Jay Janes and Greg Matthews.Honorary pallbearers are Bill Miller and Bryan Miller.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 3555 Sunset Ridge Rd.
