Willene Kendall, age 83 of Batesville, died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Wood Lawn Nursing Home in Batesville. She was born April 19, 1927 at Cave City, Arkansas to William Edward and Servetus Wright Carpenter. She was a school teacher for 26 years in the Batesville School System and retired owner and operator of Merle Norman Cosmetics and Kendall's Young Fashions in Batesville. She was a member of the Central Avenue United Methodist Church in Batesville.She was preceded in death by her parents.Survivors include her husband, W.S. 'Dub' Kendall; one son, Mike Kendall of Batesville; one sister, Maxine Wilkerson of Cave City; four grandchildren, Dr. Brian Kendall of Fayetteville, Karan Pierce of Rose Bud, Tara Creighton of Batesville and Haley Bunch of Phoenix, Arizona; three great grandchildren, William Preston Kendall of Fayetteville, Sydney Creighton and Will Creighton both of Batesville; one nephew, David Wilkerson of Cave City; one niece, Vivian Dollar of Houston, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Avenue United Methodist Church in Batesville with Rev. Paul Seay officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will be Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Mike Kendall, Brian Kendall, Dennis Coop, Buddy Carlisle, Greg Shaver, Jimmy Ray Goff, Greg Nelson, Fred Wann and Jeff Pierce.
