Langley Puckett, age 48 of Batesville died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Little Rock. He was born January 7, 1962 at Clovis, New Mexico to Leland Morris and Dorothy Imogene Henderson Puckett. He was a US Army veteran and was an engineer for MNA Railroad, a member of Operation Lifesaver and the American Legion and was of the Catholic faith. Langley often said, 'If I felt any better there would be two of me!' He was an unforgettable character who said he was 'fighting a grizzly bear to the end.'Preceding him in death were his parents; his grandparents, Claude and Thelma Henderson and Earl Ditzler and Dora Minnie Voyles Puckett; one brother, Charles Puckett and one sister Susie Bailey.Survivors include his wife, Kim Puckett of the home; two sons, Charles Puckett and Tommy Puckett both of Batesville; one daughter, Sydney Renee Archuletta of Batesville; three sisters, Cherrie Arnold of Batesville, Terry Colten of Jacksonville and Carol Jones of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Emma Fitzgerald of Richland, MS, Haley Bounds of Corning, AR, Izaiah Puckett, Sarena Puckett, Hayden Humphreys and Logan Langley Puckett all of Batesville.Funeral services will begin Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Tommy Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilkerson Cemetery located east of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Saturday, June 12, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers are Tommy Puckett, Charles Puckett, Greg Anderson, Jimmy Kerr, Chris Colter and Gary Jones.Honorary pallbearers are Bob Arnold, James Levisee, Marvin Elmore and Brian Elmore.
