Charles William 'C.W.' Perkey, age 82 of Cave City, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Cave City Nursing Home. He was born September 28, 1927 near Hickory Valley to William M. and Ruby Brewer Perkey. He was a US Army veteran having served in Germany, retired after 39 years of service from International Shoe Factory in Batesville and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cave City.He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Rita Lynn Perkey.Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Wanda Phillips Perkey; one son, Gary Perkey and wife, Cindy of Batesville; two sisters, Marie Turner of Flourissant, Missouri and Emogene Fudge and husband, Robert M. of Fairfield Bay; two grandchildren, Shaun McHalffey and wife, Lee of Batesville and Alex Perkey of Batesville; one sister-in-law, Opal Hill and husband, Sherman of Parkville, Missouri; one nephew, Harrel Turner of Marthasville, Missouri; two nieces, Carole Evans and husband, Joe of Clinton, and Cathy Robertson and husband, Jim of Madison, Mississippi; several grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Friday, July 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cave City with Rev. Roger Hook and Dane Womack officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cave City.Pallbearers will be Darrell Ford, Raymond Staggs, Sherman Hill, Bill Lewis, Jim Harper and Murvelee Crigler.Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Foley, Paul Rawlings, Roy Provence, Lloyd Rodgers, Verdell Russ, Carthel McSpadden, Carl Dene Medlock, Richard Meacham, Conway Matlock, the Administration and Staff of Cave City Nursing Home, the Cave City Class of 1946 and former employees of International Shoe Company.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Cave City Memorial Fund, 501 AR Hwy 115, Cave City, Arkansas 72521.
