Vera Long Nelson

Vera Long Nelson, age 75 of Batesville, Arkansas died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Rolling Hills Nursing Center in Batesville, Arkansas. She was born August 2, 1935 at Deering, Missouri to Hosea and Myrtle 'McGinnis' Long. She was a homemaker and beautician.She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Hosea Long Jr., John Long, Roy Long and Talbert Long, one sister Leta Jones Hudson. Survivors include two sons, E. R. Nelson III of Grand Blanch, Michigan and Charles Nelson of Flint, Michigan, one grandson, Zachary E. Nelson of Joliet, Wyoming and three sisters, Noma Carter of St. Robert, Missouri, Charlena Goff of Pangburn and Lucille Ruth of The Villages, Florida, one first cousin, Edder Huskey of Batesville, a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.Visitation will begin Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at the Mount View Cemetery located east of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
