Arlene Chappuis Sheetrum age 91 of Batesville, went to her Lord and Savior, Sunday September 5, 2010 at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. She was born March 31, 1919 at Lockport, New York, the eldest daughter of Allen and Helen Chappuis. For 60 years she was the loving wife of Donald Sheetrum of Batesville and the loving mother of three children. A longtime member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Cave City, she was a lifelong homemaker and an avid quilter and crafter.She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sheetrum and four sisters, Reita Simmons, Ruth Miller, Gloria Hefferon and Ellen Vinton, all of New York.Survivors include sisters Alta Stevens of Florida and Marilyn Steblein of New York; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Dean Wallis of Searcy; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Jan Sheetrum of Batesville; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Debbie Sheetrum of Searcy; granddaughter Cindy and husband Tim Wammack of Batesville, grandsons, Jeff Wallis of Bryant and Nicholas Sheetrum of Russellville; great grandchildren, Josh Landis, Morgan Landis and Chloe Wammack all of Batesville; and a host of loving friends and family in Christ.Funeral services will begin Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eastside Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Gary Wallace and Bro. Bobby Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery located at Sidney with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will be Tuesday September 7, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Tommy Williams, LeRoy Anderson, Clell Wilson, Josh Wilson, Noil Mahan and Lynn Westmoreland.
