Ranzlo 'R.L.' Huff - Born: 21-Aug-1920Passed away on 10/22/2010, in Woodlawn Nursing Home.He was a life long resident of Independence County and Batesville. He was born at home and raised in the Spring Mill area and was the youngest and the last surviving, of six children. He was a WWII Veteran, sacrificing 3 years, 9 months and 28 days of service for his country in the armed services. He was a patriot and a proud defender of America's Freedom. A Tech-Sergeant, in Company L, 300th Infantry, 89th. Field Artillery Battalion of the United States Army and attached to the 3rd. Marine Division while serving in the Pacific Theater during America's War against Japan. He was wounded in action on the Island of Siapan and later received an Honorable discharge, on 13-Jan-1946. He returned back home to Independence County working any job which would provide for his family. He spent most of his life working in the automobile industry selling and repairing cars in Batesville. He worked for the former Bob Ford Desoto Dealership and later owned his own car business in Batesville for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents Luther and Rosie (Poor) Huff; four brothers, Charlie, John, Cleo and Bill Huff; one sister, Myrtle Mae Cole, a step granddaughter, Tera Webb; plus his beloved wife of 40 years, Dorothy Jean (McMahan) Huff. Survivors include two sons; Bobby and wife Milesa Huff of Searcy; Richard C. and wife Michelle C. Huff of Evening Shade; two daughters, Terry Landers of Batesville; Debbie and husband Dave King of Batesville; grandchildren are Scott Huff of Memphis, Brandy Tarini and her husband Dr. Gregg Tarini of Little Rock, Rusty Elumbaugh and his wife C.J. Elumbaugh of Batesville, Hannah Huff and Morgan Huff both of Evening Shade; great-grandchildren are Reese Tarini, Isabella Tarini and Novelle Tarini of Little Rock, many loved nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services will begin Sunday October 24, 2010 at 2:30 pm at Qualls Funeral Service Chapel with Billy Huff officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with military honors. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 23, 2010 from 4 to 6 pm at the Qualls-Batesville Funeral Service Chapel. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. C.E. Ransom of Searcy and Dr. Bob Walton of Batesville.
