Gordon 'Horsefly' Bristow, age 86 died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at a Searcy hospital. He was born June 7, 1924 in Ash Flat, Arkansas, graduated from Ash Flat High School and then attended half a semester at Harding University before enlisting in the U.S. Army during WWII where he served in Italy and India with the China Burma India Theater. He was of the Church of Christ faith.He was preceded in death by his wife, Martelle Bristow, mother, Vera Daily; grandparents, William and Lucy Bristow and several aunts and uncles.Survivors include sons, Rodney Bristow of Salina, Oklahoma and James Bristow of Evening Shade, daughter, Pamela Stevens and husband Ron and Vicki Gallo and husband Fred all of Searcy, Monica Miller of Hurst, Texas and Betty Matthews of Perth, Australia, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.Graveside services will be held Friday, November 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat.
