Orville Thompson

Orville Thompson, age 78 of Newport died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at his home. He was born February 29, 1932 in Jackson County to George and Myrtle Harmon Thompson. He was a retired military veteran and a master electrician.He was preceded in death by his parents and his only brother Dwayne Thompson.Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Charlene Thompson of the home, a son, James Dean Thompson of Batesville, one daughter Tammy Weaver and husband David of Newport, three grandsons, Nathan Thompson, Trevor Weaver and Eli Weaver all of Newport, four sister-in-laws, Linda Fulbright, Marie Johnson and Emma Gilbert all of Batesville and Mary Sutterfield of Newport.Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.No visitation is planned.
