Laura Nelson

Laura Nelson, age 84 of Evening Shade died Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Cave City Nursing Home. She was born January 17, 1926 at Sitka, Arkansas to Robert Elee and Julia Hoffman Lashley. She was a retired CNA having worked at Cave City Nursing Home, a foster grandparent at Evening Shade Elementary School and of the Baptist faith.She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sharon Kennedy, two brothers, Jesse Lashley and Thomas Leroy Lashley, two sisters, Sarah Jane Jones and Bessie Lashley and one granddaughter, Heather Nozinich.Survivors include one son, Robert Earl Nelson of Olive Branch, Mississippi, two daughters, Patricia Nozinich of Coldwater, Mississippi and Pamela Shirley of Munford, Tennessee, two brothers, Dee Lashley of Evening Shade and Phil Lashley of Poughkeepsie, five sisters, Georgia Cates of Lake of the Ozarks, Arkansas, Alma Roberts of Petal, Mississippi, Joi Dunn of Memphis, Tennessee, Brenda Michaels of Corinth, Mississippi and Julia Joiner of Dalton, Georgia, five grandchildren, Kevin Kennedy of Evening Shade, Shane Walker of Arlington, Tennessee, David Daily of Munford, Tennessee, Matthew Nozinich of Coldwater, Mississippi and Michael Nozinich of Oxford, Mississippi, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Private memorial services will be held at a later date with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.No visitation is planned.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Evening Shade Elementary PTA.
