W.S. 'Johnny' Brewer age 82 of Sidney died Wednesday January 5, 2011 at his home. He was born September 11, 1928 at Willington, Texas to Oscar Jerome and Martha Askew Brewer. He was a farmer, a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War and a member of the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church located at Cave City. He was a preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elnona Smith Brewer; three brothers, Lon Brewer, Patty Brewer and O.J. Brewer; two sisters, Artis Cole and Donita Fore.Survivors include, one son, Scott Brewer of Jay, Oklahoma; one daughter, Pam Perkey of Cave City; one sister, Lois Montgomery of Cave City; three grandchildren, Brian Perkey of Sidney , Brad Perkey of Cave City and Christina Brewer of Little Rock; four great grandchildren, Dalina Perkey and Austin Perkey both of Salem and Brianne Perkey and Lauren Perkey both of Cave City; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Boyce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery located at Sidney with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Friday January 7, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Gilbert McCracken, Darrell Shreve, Jackie Helm, Glen Schoon, Justin Davis and L.C. Spurlock.Honorary pallbearers are King Haven and Dr. J.R. Baker and Staff.
